Privacy Statement
The privacy and security pertaining to the information that our readers provide is a serious matter, therefore AAP has established the following Privacy Statement for our organization and users.
Privacy Statement:
- We do not release proprietary database information about your use of our site, including mailing and e-mail addresses, to any third party.
- Personal information, including the name of the individual user, is private to AAP Online CME staff, the AAP, and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
- We collect the domain name and email address of users to our site, information volunteered by the user such as quiz/evaluation information and/or site registrations. The information we collect is used to notify users about updates, provide confirmation on course completions, and to facilitate the statistical analysis of our CME content. This information is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.
- We use industry-standard data-encryption technology when we transfer and receive personal information on our site. We maintain appropriate security measures in our physical facilities to protect against loss, misuse, or alteration of information we have collected from you at our site.
- With regard to "Cookies": "Cookies" are bits of information that are stored on your computer that help identify you when you visit the AAP Online CME website. Cookies are solely used to facilitate the login process so that your username and password will not have to be entered each time you visit the site to participate in a CME course offering. When you first log into the site to participate in a course, you can choose whether to use the site with or without cookies. You are NOT required to accept cookies to use this site, but, if you choose not to accept them, you cannot use the convenient "Auto Sign-In" feature and the only way you can sign out is to quit your browser. If you use this site without cookies, you will have to log in each time to see certain content. Unless you use the "Auto Sign-In" option on the sign-in page, the cookie information we create in your browser is destroyed as soon as you quit your browser. We use cookies only to store your user name and password, and for security purposes the password is encrypted. See more on cookies here.
